This image, which also concerns itself with going down to the woods, accompanies the story Wildlife.

I couldn't get the song out of my head, so I created this small (about 5 x 5 cm) drawing for the Virginia Park Fine Arts Night.

It is almost (in spite of the snow still on the ground here in Edmonton) sandal season. Happy spring!

This image is called Slow Food and goes with the story Lemonade. I wish you a very happy holiday, filled with foods of all speeds.

The days are already getting shorter in Edmonton. When I was a kid, my Dad would walk me to daycare when it was still dark; we'd sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" on our way. This image, which I can't seem to settle on a title for, reminds me of those walks. The illustration goes with the story Zoo Train and will also be part of the My Life in Colour show that I'm working on with Crystal, Amanda and Roger.

Research has always been one of my favourite aspects of illustrating, especially when the research involves eating large amounts of chocolate! The painting is called "Whack and Unwrap" and goes with the story The Loss of a Legend.

I just finished another picture for Postcard Stories. It is of St. Lucy, patron saint of sufferers of eye troubles and of writers; I'm very excited about the story that will be appearing with it. Traditionally, she is shown with her vision restored (and, to my great delight, she is often depicted carrying her eyes around on a plate or a flower stem!). I wanted to show her at a different point – after her eyes were put out but before they came back. I was inspired by an old first aid book I found, and as usual, I am always looking for an excuse to paint hair and foliage.
